Full-Service Law Firm in Athens

A law firm in Greece
for matters that matter.

Pantazis & Associates is a law firm in Greece, based in Athens and practising since 2002. We act for companies and individuals, Greek and foreign, on litigation and arbitration, business and technology law, real estate, private client matters and gaming regulation. Instructions are handled directly by senior lawyers, in English, Greek or Italian. That is the working method of a law firm in Greece built for clients who need a decision they can act on, not a survey of the possibilities.

The firm was founded by Stefanos Pantazis, who served in the Hellenic judiciary before returning to private practice. That background still shapes how the firm works: a case is assessed first for what a court is realistically likely to do with it, and only then for how it should be argued. Litigation is treated as a considered step, not a reflex.

Much of our work has an international dimension — a foreign company entering the Greek market, a Greek business trading abroad, an overseas heir to a Greek estate, a visitor injured in Greece. Several embassies in Athens refer their nationals to us for exactly this reason, and clients deal with the lawyer running their matter rather than passing through an account manager. Choosing a law firm in Greece is mostly a question of who actually does the work, and here the answer is a partner.

Why Pantazis & Associates

What clients tell us
made the difference.

The six practices are not run as separate silos. They share one team and one commercial mindset, which means a matter touching several areas of law is handled under a single instruction rather than passed between firms.

What clients point to most often, though, is simpler than structure: they get a straight answer about what is likely to happen, early enough to act on it.

01
A judge's assessment of your case
The firm was founded by a former member of the Hellenic judiciary. Cases are evaluated as a court would evaluate them — which is why we will tell you when a claim is not worth bringing.
02
Recommended by foreign embassies
A number of embassies in Greece, including those of the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, France and Poland, refer their nationals to the firm. That is third-party endorsement no marketing can produce.
03
Matters that have shaped the law
The firm has acted in matters that have been reported in the national press and cited in legal textbooks and journals, including cases involving novel legal questions decided for the first time. Our experience includes matters where the legal position was not simply applied, but tested, developed and ultimately clarified.
04
Dual-qualified international counsel
Our Managing Partner is qualified in Greece and England & Wales, bringing both civil law and common law perspectives to international commercial matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

What clients ask
before instructing us.

Do you act for clients based outside Greece?+

Yes, and a large share of our work is exactly that. We act for foreign companies operating in or trading with Greece, for overseas heirs to Greek estates, for international property buyers, and for visitors injured in Greece. Several embassies in Athens refer their nationals to us for this reason.

Which languages does the firm work in?+

We advise directly in English, Greek and Italian — consultations, contracts, correspondence and court or arbitration proceedings are conducted in the appropriate language of the relevant venue. Our Chinese-language pages exist so Chinese-reading clients can research the firm; the firm's lawyers do not currently practise in Chinese.

Can a matter be handled remotely?+

In most cases, yes. Consultations are held by video or telephone, documents are exchanged electronically, and a power of attorney allows us to act in Greece without the client travelling. Some steps — certain notarial acts, and occasionally a court appearance — require attendance or a specific authorisation, and we will tell you at the outset which apply.

What areas of law does the firm cover?+

Six: litigation and arbitration, business law, technology law, real estate, private client matters, and gaming regulation. Where a matter spans more than one — a property purchase with an inheritance dimension, a licensing question that becomes a dispute — it is handled by one team under a single instruction.

Do you handle cases outside Athens?+

Yes. Although the firm is based in Athens, we act on matters throughout Greece and before the competent Greek courts and authorities, including regular instructions on Crete, Mykonos, Santorini and Corfu. We also represent clients in international arbitration and assist with the recognition and enforcement of judgments and arbitral awards in Greece.

Do you only act for clients in Athens?+
