About the Firm

A judicial perspective.
A practitioner's approach.

Pantazis & Associates was founded in 2002 by Stefanos Pantazis, a former member of the Hellenic judiciary who left the bench to establish an independent practice. That origin shapes everything: the firm approaches legal problems the way a judge does — with rigour, structure and an eye for what actually matters in a courtroom. It is the reason clients describe this law firm in Athens as unusually direct about what a case is worth pursuing.

The firm did not begin as a full-service practice. It was established as a litigation boutique with an exclusive focus on complex disputes, and expanded into corporate, technology and property work only as existing clients asked for it. That sequence still shows in how the firm is staffed: every lawyer here, whatever their principal practice area, has a solid litigation record behind them.

The firm is led today by Dionysios Pantazis, admitted as an Advocate of the Athens Bar and in England and Wales, who has served for eleven years as General Counsel to a Fortune 50 technology group, with responsibility across seven business lines and eight countries. That dual identity — senior private practitioner and in-house counsel at enterprise scale — gives the firm a perspective that is rare: we understand both the commercial pressures our clients face and the legal frameworks within which they must operate.

"We were built by a judge. We think like judges. That means we do not just advise on the law — we advise on what a court will actually do with it."

The firm operates in English, Greek and Italian. We advise Greek businesses expanding internationally, foreign companies entering the Greek market and international clients with cross-border matters involving Greece and Southeast Europe.

We are members of AEA International Lawyers and the China International Receivables Management Network, giving us established relationships with trusted counsel in other jurisdictions when a matter extends beyond Greece.

We are deliberately selective about the matters we take on. Where the likely outcome does not justify the cost, complexity or risk of pursuing a case, we say so.

Our Approach

What sets us apart is not only what we do —
it is how we think.

Judicial rigour
Every matter is approached with the discipline of legal reasoning that comes from our judicial origins. We do not give opinions — we give conclusions, with the reasoning that supports them.
Commercial instinct
Legal advice that ignores commercial reality is of limited use. We advise not only on what the law permits, but on what makes sense commercially in light of the risks, costs and objectives involved.
Cross-border perspective
Dual qualification, eleven years of multinational in-house experience and three working languages give us a practical perspective on international and cross-border matters.
Forensic precision
We read the detail. We find the argument others miss. Our approach to contract review, litigation strategy and regulatory advice is defined by precision, not approximation.
Direct access
You deal directly with the lawyer responsible for your matter. Where a partner leads the engagement, the client has direct access to that partner — without an account manager or unnecessary layers of communication.
Structured advice
Our advice is structured around three questions: where you stand, what your options are and what we recommend. The aim is to leave every discussion with a clear basis for deciding what to do next.
